This is out of the blue, but I wanted to share the fascinating Schmidt Sting Pain Index with you. The work of Justin O. Schmidt, an entomologist, this index characterizes the painfulness of the stings of various bees, wasps & ants. My favorite is:
Bullhorn acacia ant: A rare, piercing, elevated sort of pain. Someone has fired a staple into your cheek.
